The French Immersion program is offered at 15 schools across the YCDSB and is designed to provide non-francophone children with a high degree of proficiency in the French language. While any exposure to a second language is beneficial, French Immersion broadens and deepens that exposure.
The presentation that evening will include the French Immersion program as a whole rather than by school. Information such as transportation, secondary panel education & career pathways in French Immersion will also be discussed.
French Immersion Program Application / Registration Timelines:
December 3, 2020: ONLINE APPLICATION OPENS
January 22, 2021: ONLINE APPLICATION CLOSES
January 28, 2021 at 5pm: LOTTERY FOR SPOTS IN THE FRENCH IMMERSION PROGRAM TO BE HELD AT EACH SCHOOL
February 5, 2021: PARENT NOTIFICATION LETTERS TO BE MAILED
