Hurray! Halloween is a time to dress up in costumes and be silly.
COVID-19 is not going to ruin our fun! Halloween Costume Day is happening on Friday, October 30! Remember to wear your masks!
- Halloween French Vocabulary Bingo on the PA each morning.
- On Friday Junior and Intermediate classes will go for a walk (physical distancing, one class scheduled at a time) through the “Haunted Forest” on the school property.
- On Friday there will be a Halloween Spot Dance for each class in the gym! Students will be physically distanced 2 meters apart and dance in their designated spot as part of their Daily Physical Activity (DPA).
Also, it is important to note that we must encourage safety at all times and the appropriateness of costumes to be worn in our school on Friday, October 30.
- Culture is NOT Costume: Ask your students and staff to refrain from using costumes that represent a cultural group or ethnicity. (e.g. First Nations, Chinese, Arabic, etc.)
- Masks and Replica Weapons Are Discouraged (Except for PPE): Wearing masks during the school day can compromise the safety of the community. As well, staff and students must wear their mask/face covering as regularly required.
- Awareness of Costume Appropriateness is Important: Discourage costumes that are not appropriate to the moral tone of our Catholic School.
- Awareness of Fear and Evil: Be aware that Ghoulish costumes can terrify younger students, students with special needs, or students with phobias.
- When in Doubt, Think Saint: Hallowe’en precedes All Soul’s and All Saint’s Days. Encourage students to dress as saints and religious figures.
