The SJA Catholic School Council is excited to announce that we will be hosting a virtual STEM Night at St. Joseph Aurora on Tuesday, May 4 from 7:00 – 8:00 in partnership with STEM Minds
Join us for a night of awesome learning as you discover just how much fun STEM can be through a variety of hands-on workshops. Join with your kids, ask questions, make mistakes, and have fun as you dive into the world of STEM!
We have 3 exciting workshops to choose from; please see the descriptions below. Each workshop is one hour in length. Please fill out and return the bottom of this form to indicate your preference.
In order to participate in the workshop, you will require:
- An internet connection
- Access to Zoom
- A computer/laptop/Chromebook. An iPad/tablet can be used but is not recommended.
Workshop A: Video Game Design (Grade 1-8)
Why just play a video game when you can create your own? In this session, participants will create their own fully playable video games as we explore the world of design and storytelling.

Why just play video games when you can create your own? We will be creating our own platformer games with Bloxels as we explore the world of video game design.
To participate, each student will need: · Access to a laptop/Chromebook (no download required) OR an iPad/tablet with the Bloxels EDU app downloaded |
Workshop B: 3D Design (Grade 3-8)
If you can dream it, you can design it! 3D design opens up a whole new world of possibilities for what we can make a reality. In this session, participants will learn about the principles of 3D design as they create their own ‘dream house’.

There is a limit of 50 participants per workshop! This is a great opportunity to have fun as a family or to engage in some quality one on one time with your child and explore some new STEM technology!
