Next week is Catholic Education Week (CEW) and the theme is Rebuild, Restore, Renew Together! May 2-6 is also Children’s Mental Health Week with a focus on empathy!
May 2: CEW Kickoff Assembly & unveiling of new Land Acknowledgement Plaque!
May 3: CEW Play Day!! On this day our students in gr 1-6 have been assigned to different teams (ex. Team Red, Blue, Pink, Purple etc.) and they will participate in a number of play day games and activities. Every child will be told their team colour in advance. The grade 7 & 8 students will be leaders of the activity stations and the teams.
May 4 CEW Mass & Star Wars Day (& raindate for CEW Play Day): His Eminence, Thomas Cardinal Collins, Archbishop of Toronto will be celebrating the Catholic Education Week Mass scheduled for Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. All students, families, Board staff, trustees, and the broader Catholic community are invited to participate virtually: https://www.stmichaelscathedral.com/live.
May 4 is Star Wars Day!! Dress up in your favourite Star Wear clothing or favourite Star Wars character!!
May 5 is the Living Rosary: On this day our grade 8 students will be leading the school community in the prayer of the rosary.
May 6 is the Spring Fling Dance-a-thon!! On this day our students will attend a Dance with a Professional DJ and have an opportunity to purchase snacks & put their tickets into the prize bins (in the Library)! This is the event all of the students and parents have been talking about!! Parents: It is still not too late to help out! We need prizes. Contact amy.brubacher@gmail.com.

Luke 4:18 Soccer Call & Shoe Collection: As a part of the festivities of Catholic Education Week and in preparation of their excursion on May 16 to Canadian Food For Children, the Luke 4:18 Committee will be collecting gently used shoes and used soccer balls. These items are highly sought after will be shipped to the poorest parts of the world!
