November 2: The Life of Chanie Wenjack & Residential Schools Presentations

November 2 Presentations:  Chanie Wenjack was an Anishinaabe boy from Marten Falls First Nation. In 1963, at the age of nine, he was sent to Cecilia Jeffrey Indian Residential School in Kenora, Ontario. Three years later, he ran away trying to reunite with his family 600 kilometers away.

November 1-5 Luke 4:18 Northern Neighbours Christmas Project: ReconciliACTION

The SJA community will be sending gifts to boys and girls in Nunavut as steps towards reconciliation.

Halloween at St. Joseph Aurora!

Thank you  to Joe at the NO FRILLS STORE located in the AURORA SHOPPING CENTRE for donating 300 pumpkins to St. Joseph Aurora to make our student’s Halloween exciting this year!  The teachers at St. Joseph will be planning decorating activities for the students to do with their pumpkins!!  The students will be bringing their pumpkins home to share with their families!!

Luke 4:18 Fundraising for Neighbours to the North Initiative

Luke 4:18 Fundraising:  Beginning Wednesday, October 20 the Luke 4:18 Committee will be holding Rainbow Loom sales with proceeds going towards the shipping fees associated with our Northern Neighbours Christmas Packages project.  The SJA community will be sending gifts to boys and girls in northern Ontario and Quebec as steps towards reconciliation.  Rainbow Loom prices will be as follows:
